Love Poems Are Never Good

I love the way
you smile
you smile
you seem to always be smiling
you don't button that button
you turn around to see me laugh
and how your pants fit, so nicely.

I look down and wonder
what moments in your life have not made you smile
where those shoes have taken you
and how it would feel to fall asleep with you.

I know that I wouldn't turn away from you,
even if we were spooning,
because you aren't someone
whose presence I would want (or need) to forget
and I think I would fit on your chest, so nicely.

Even though it feels like I have always known it,
I want to hear your story.
