out of sight

sometimes you look foreign to me
features frequently forgotten feature:
the bulge in your neck
total numbers of fingers
hip bones
but never: lip shapes made during speech
and: my feet, so much smaller.
my memories (thoughtsfull of you)
change the way you look
from up side to down
my eyesclosed clips cropped
until you are only a name
on the back of that picture
of me and an alien.
it is just not
human being
apart from you.
